I am always on the lookout for a great deal, but I don’t like spending hours looking through the racks for that perfect deal. That is why I love Shop It To Me. You sign up for a daily email that sends you deals from your favorite stores and designers. You can get a ton of great deals. Today, I am looking forward to a lovely Calvin Klein dress at Nordstrom.
Getting a great deal is always important especially in the current economic times. This way, you get fabulous clothes without the price tag and the time spent to go to the mall.
Who is your favorite designer, and where is the best place to get a great deal City Lights Residents?

King Tut in Denver

Well, the exhibit based around artifacts found in his tomb anyways. King Tut is not actually in the King Tut Exhibit that is in Denver, his mummy resides in his tomb in Egypt, the gold sarcophagus is in the Egypt National Museum and does not travel outside of the country.
If you can overlook this fact though, Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs is a fantastic exhibit. Open until January 9th, this exhibit at the Denver Museum of Art was put together by National Geographic Egyptologists so you know that it is good. The exhibit opens up with an intro by Harrison Ford. Many of the Artifacts in the exhibit have never been seen in the United States before this tour.
I would buy your tickets early so that you can be sure to get in without much waiting. Have you been to see the exhibit yet, City Lights Residents.

Trivia Night at McCarthy’s

Are your Tuesday Night’s a little boring? It is the middle of the week and it is summer, so there is nothing good on television. If you are looking for something fun to do why not head down to McCarthy’s for trivia? You can impress your friends with your knowledge and win cash and other prizes at the same time. What is not to love?
On top of trivia, McCarthy’s has pool tables and a unique atmosphere. I like the Ultimate Nacho’s minus the re-fried beans, they are really yummy. They have your standard beer on draft, nothing spectacular but they have an interesting mix of shooters. So, if you are looking for something to do on Tuesday, I suggest McCarthys. Which is located on 15350 East Smoky Hill Rd.

There are a lot of great movies coming out at the end of July and I know that we have some movie fans here at City Lights, so what are you most looking forward to seeing? Below is a quick synopsis of the major films that are coming to theaters.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice: Starring Nick Cage. Based on the beloved short in the Disney Movie Fantasia. The Sorcerer comes to New York to find someone who can help him defeat his nemeses. It got a 37 on Rotten Tomatoes.
Inception: Directed by Chris Nolan (Dark Night) and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page. This Sci-fi thriller asks us the question of if our dreams are our own. It makes the top of my list. Rotten tomatoes gave it a 86%.
July 23rd:
Salt: Starring Angelina Jolie, when a Russian source reveals her as being a double agent, Evelyn Salt must go on the run. But is she innocent?
Ramona and Beezus: Based on the beloved series by Beverly Cleary, it follows the story of 4th grade Ramona as she tries to save her home from danger.

Check Out The Cinema Grill!

Going to the movies has gotten really pricy, especially if you don’t care if you see the movie right away. I think I may have found the solution here in Aurora. The Cinema Grill, at 13682 E Alameda Avenue, offers you the chance to go see a movie that has been out awhile for $4.00 at night, or $2.00 during the day, you get to eat actual food and you can drink. Is there a better theater experience? Sure the food is not amazing, but it is not that bad and sure the wait staff can be disruptive, but you get used to it.
Seriously, if you aren’t picky about dodging your friends who like to tell you about the movie they just stood in line for 2 hours and paid 60.00, for a ticket and some popcorn, check out the Cinema Grill. You wont regret it City Lights residents!
Playing this week: Through July 15th
Marmaduke: 12pm
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time: 11:30, 1:30, 4:15, 6:40, 9:15
Shrek Forever After: 11:20,1:30, 3:50, 6:15, 8:30
Iron Man 2: 2:00, 4:30, 7:00, 9:30

Make Your Space Feel Like Home

I love our floor plans here at City Lights Apartments, but I haven’t yet got that feeling at home. I think this is because I haven’t put up any accessories. If you are having a hard time making your place feel more homey, try these tips.
Accessorize: Throw pillows, blankets things that make your place feel more comfortable.
Personal stuff: Put up photos of your friends, mementos from your travels, anything that reminds you of good times.
Last but not least, make sure you have unpacked all your boxes and that everything has a place. Clutter can kill the feeling of home. If you have to, rearrange some things. But make sure that you put it back up.
We want you to stay in City Lights for a long time, so make it feel like home! And if there is anything we can do to help, please let the office know.

Go Paperless!
Posted on June 30, 2010 · Leave a CommentImage via Wikipedia
I, like most of America, receive a lot of junk mail. I have already opted out of prescreened credit card offers but I am still receiving a ton of mail from my bank; so I have decided to Go Paperless in my statements. It is easy and since I check my bank account online anyways. And, if you are worried about your personal information getting out, remember that most of identity thief happens because of mail. Here what I learned from the Green Living website,
Turning off paper statements protects the environment by saving trees, wastewater, solid waste, and energy. By estimate, the average household receives seven monthly statements, totaling 19 pages monthly per household or 228 pages annually.
That is a huge amount of paper! Think of all those trees, plus if it doesn’t come to me, I don’t have to find a way to get rid of it. Going Paperless is easier than you may think. You can enroll online for automatic bill pay and to have your statements shut off. What are you waiting for?
