Avatar is the biggest film in movie history. I did not go and see it when it was in theaters, because lets face it, when the Av’s play, there is little else going on in my life. Well, lucky me because tomorrow Avatar is coming back to selected theaters and IMAX in 3-d along with some never before seen footage.
Did you like the film City Lights Residents? Will you go see it again in theaters?
Avatar is playing at the following theaters:
Harkins Northfield 18: 10:40, 2:30, 6:20, 10:02
United Artists Creek Creek in IMAX 3-D: 12:45, 4:15, 8:00

Did you love watching Happy Days when you were younger? Whether you say them when they first aired or have seen the reruns, Happy Days is one of the most iconic television shows ever.
Well, loves of the Sock Hop, rejoice, Happy Days the Musical is coming to the Aurora Fox. All your favorite characters will be there, singing and dancing. The musical takes you back to 1959 Milwaukee. Arnold’s Malt Shop is in danger of closing so the gang organizes a dance contest and a wrestling match to try and save it. The show has received some pretty great reviews. And the Aurora Fox always does really great productions.
Happy Days will be playing at the Fox from September 18th-26th.
Will you go see the show?

Mile High Music Festival This Weekend!

This weekend is the Annual Mile High Music Festival! This year’s festival will be taking place at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. There are some great acts this year! Tickets are $175 for both days or $99.50 for a one day pass if purchased in advance. If I had to pick only one day, I would go with Saturday, but that is just me.
The highlights on Saturday include: Jack Johnson, Rusted Root, Cypress hill, Phoenix, and Steve Miller Band. I am most excited about Phoenix, I have never seen the french band live. Did you know that the lead singer is dating Sophia Coppola?
The highlights on Sunday include: Dave Matthews, Weezer and My Morning Jacket. I hope Weezer plays a lot of their old material.
Are you going this year City Lights Residents? Who are you most looking forward to seeing?

I love Hook! The retelling of the Peter Pan story with Robin Williams as an all grown up lawyer Peter, who is transferred back to Neverland after his children are kidnapped by Capt. James Hook. Can Pan save his children? The movie stars Dustin Hoffman as Hook and Julia Roberts as Tinkerbell.
You can go see it for free on August 14th at Skyline Park in downtown Denver. There will be entertainment both before and after the show so arrive early. The movie begins when it gets Dark.
Skyline Park is located on Arapahoe Street, 23 minutes away from City Lights Apartments?

One of the best Mircobrews in the country, is right here in Aurora. Have you been to Dry Dock Brewing Company yet? You can taste their current brews on tap. My favorite is the U Boat Hefeweizen, with its strong notes of Banana. They also have their Naked Porter on Nitro.
Dry Dock is open Sunday-Wednesday from noon until 9, Thursday until 10, and Friday and Saturday until 11. They don’t serve any food but popcorn.
The brewery is located at 15120 E. Hampden Ave.
Have you visited them yet? They are Aurora’s only microbrewer.

King Tut in Denver

Well, the exhibit based around artifacts found in his tomb anyways. King Tut is not actually in the King Tut Exhibit that is in Denver, his mummy resides in his tomb in Egypt, the gold sarcophagus is in the Egypt National Museum and does not travel outside of the country.
If you can overlook this fact though, Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs is a fantastic exhibit. Open until January 9th, this exhibit at the Denver Museum of Art was put together by National Geographic Egyptologists so you know that it is good. The exhibit opens up with an intro by Harrison Ford. Many of the Artifacts in the exhibit have never been seen in the United States before this tour.
I would buy your tickets early so that you can be sure to get in without much waiting. Have you been to see the exhibit yet, City Lights Residents.

Trivia Night at McCarthy’s

Are your Tuesday Night’s a little boring? It is the middle of the week and it is summer, so there is nothing good on television. If you are looking for something fun to do why not head down to McCarthy’s for trivia? You can impress your friends with your knowledge and win cash and other prizes at the same time. What is not to love?
On top of trivia, McCarthy’s has pool tables and a unique atmosphere. I like the Ultimate Nacho’s minus the re-fried beans, they are really yummy. They have your standard beer on draft, nothing spectacular but they have an interesting mix of shooters. So, if you are looking for something to do on Tuesday, I suggest McCarthys. Which is located on 15350 East Smoky Hill Rd.
Where is your favorite place by City Lights for trivia?

Check Out The Cinema Grill!

Going to the movies has gotten really pricy, especially if you don’t care if you see the movie right away. I think I may have found the solution here in Aurora. The Cinema Grill, at 13682 E Alameda Avenue, offers you the chance to go see a movie that has been out awhile for $4.00 at night, or $2.00 during the day, you get to eat actual food and you can drink. Is there a better theater experience? Sure the food is not amazing, but it is not that bad and sure the wait staff can be disruptive, but you get used to it.
Seriously, if you aren’t picky about dodging your friends who like to tell you about the movie they just stood in line for 2 hours and paid 60.00, for a ticket and some popcorn, check out the Cinema Grill. You wont regret it City Lights residents!
